I went birding today with a professor from school... we drove to a warm-water lake which is fed by a power plant. The hot water flowing into the lake keeps it from freezing, attracting many birds including uncommon waterfowl. Some highlights from the trip were: Ross' goose, snow geese, cooper's hawk, american black duck, white-fronted geese, eurasian collared dove, and 30+ Bald Eagles.
Can you spot the odd duck? It's an American Black Duck
(There's a Gadwall in the lower right corner, too)
